As many of you know, yesterday was the last day for teams to swap arbitration figures. Biggest news was Prince Fielder locking up around $15.5 million for the 2011 season. I would have thought he would get more, but it’s arbitration, making it hard to get too much more. He know his payday is coming.
Braves have locked up all their arbitration eligible players.
- Peter Moylan (RP) – $2MM
- Eric O’Flaherty (RP) – $895K
- Jair Jurrjens (SP) – $3.25MM
- Martin Prado (2B-LF) – $3.1MM
…and obviously Dan Uggla (2B) signed a five-year $62 Million contract extension that bought out his final year of arbitration.
Each one got significant raises, most were doubled, if not all. But compared to the market, each one is well underpaid.
Who said arbitration isn’t team friendly?
