Author Mark Moran poses for the camera. Note from Mark -- things to notice in this photo: The date on the side -- August 1970. The taped bat -- Little League teams had plenty of good bats. But, for playground games, instead of buying new ones, we taped up our cracked bats and kept using them. The sneakers -- I wasn’t about to ask my father for money for cleats. The skinny arms -- This was before the Joe Weider weight-lifting program.
