And the crowd goes crazy! … as the man goes to jail!

For anyone who has yet to see this, here is your witness to one of the, if not the, greatest fan escape in sports history.

To quickly set up the video: Carlos Lee steps to the plate in the bottom of the ninth. Trailing 6-4 to the Mets, the Astros need a big hit to pull out a victory and save a little bit of pride as they battle for the second-worst record in the National League.

After a big cut, and a foul ball, the crowd erupts. But it certainly wasn’t for Carlos Lee. The fan, who has become a viral sensation known as “the urban ninja”,  uses some of the most acrobatic and evasive moves ever seen on a baseball field. The way he dominated Tal’s Hill, the Astros should sign him to a contract immediately. If nothing else, they could shove him on the field when the Astros are getting beat up by the opposing team. At least it would put fans in the seats and add some spice to what is shaping up to be a dismal season.

The Great Fan Escape

Spoiler: the fan was eventually arrested.
