Clutch Performers – The rookies were on display Sunday as a few of them just absolutely dominated. None were better however, than Tony Cingrani. He managed to shut down a red hot Dodgers team but failed to pick up the win, as the Reds provided zero run support. Cingrani is more than likely going to be shuffled back and forth from the majors to the minors all season, as the Reds need a starter. He is worth stashing if he does go back down. In 199 innings, he has a 2.70 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP along with 125 strikeouts. Cingrani was on point yesterday, check out who else absolutely crushed it as well.

Trending developments – Despite any contribution to the counting stats, Christian Yelich has been one of the most added players in fantasy this week. He is batting .280 but has zero homeruns and only 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. His upside alone makes him an interesting pickup, but I am very bullish on Yelich actually being a major fantasy contributor this season. In my opinion, he is a sell high candidate the moment he has a big game. Let’s see what else is trending.
- Evan Longoria is on a 10-game hitting-streak and is batting .268/.333/.537 with three homeruns, seven RBI and seven runs during that stretch.
- Mark Ellis is on a 10-game hitting-streak and is batting .405/.410/.514 with a homerun, seven RBI, and four runs during that stretch.
- In Patrick Corbin’s last eight starts, seven of them have been quality starts. He is now 12-and-2 on the season with a 2.24 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP
- On the flip side, Phil Hughes, has only one quality start in his last four trips to the mound. With a 4.58 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP, Hughes may surrender his job to Michael Pineda
Prospect Watch – Miguel Sano has absolutely mashed the ball in the minors this season. Between high-A and double-A, he has 26 homeruns and nine stolen bases. His batting average has not been the best since coming up to double-A (.234), but this guy could be a monster fantasy player once he does come up to the show. Here is a clip of Sano in action

Head-2-Head– Brandon Beachy is making his 2013 pitching debut today against the Rockies and will be capped at 100 pitches. That should be more than enough for Beachy to be a major contributor. Pick him up for the stream today, but he may find a way on your team permanently if we see the Beachy of old.
