Luis Castillo may be headed back to the Florida Marlins. According to mlb.com’s Joe Frisaro, a team source said the Marlins are considering signing Castillo, who was released by the New York Mets this morning. The 35-year-old Castillo could be a viable backup should the Matt Dominguez coming-out party be delayed. Current second baseman Omar Infante could slide over to third to accommodate Castillo in the lineup.
Castillo was a thee-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner during his tenure with the Marlins from 1996-2005.
