Wait … How Many People Were At The Rays-White Sox Game?

Will crowds dwindle at Coors Field with 2012 price hikes? (RJ Sangosti/ The Denver Post)

Marc Topkin, the beat write for the Tampa Bay Times, had this little beauty of a Tweet yesterday afternoon regarding the attendance at the Rays-White Sox game.

Actually, though, 974 fans is kind of impressive considering the circumstances.

Game time was moved from 7:05 in the evening to 1:05 in the afternoon (last minute too). The weather was brutal with the temperature in the 30s and the wind coming off the lake. And, oh yeah, it was snowing like an absolute mother until just before first pitch.

And it was a Monday.

So, yeah, 974 might not be too bad after all.
