  1. I highly doubt they will be targeting Reyes  he has pretty much cemented his reputation as a himself over team type player with his little stunt of pulling himself out just so he wouldnt risk hurting his chances at a batting title I dont care what kind of argument someone may have that is just plan weak no matter what anyone says  and Braves wont give someone like that big money not with a potential superstar like Pastronicky being so close to be ready. the kid only had 45 strikeouts in 459 at-bats combined in Mississippi and Gwinnett this season I know thats in the minors but thats still impressive. So I doubt we will target any big name player. Also for the trade Heyward group not going to happen Wren said himself they have never even entertained the  thought of trading him. This doesnt mean he will automatically be the starting RF though because Wren also said he will have to win the spot.IF any thing big is done it might be trade a young arm like Jurrjens or Hanson simply because we wont be able to keep both after they hit there free agency years not with there agent being Scott Boras.

  3. I don’t think they will add a big name free agent at any position except possibly another righty in the bullpen. I would look for a shortstop like Alex Gonzalez or another veteran to bridge the gap to Pastornicky for at least part of next season. I figure Prado will start the season as the left fielder. I would like to see Prado play left more consistently instead of being at third every fifth game. More consistency on defense might lead to more consistency at the plate. I wouldn’t be very surprised if they traded or at least attempted to trade a young starter, probably Jurrjens, for a young position player. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Peter Moylan wasn’t back next year.

  4. they need to trade Lowe and Heyward. Heyward has the biggest ego. He doesn’t dive for the ball and when it gets away from him, he trots after it. That is on the defensive side, now for offensive, he seems to be getting some hits now but where has he been all year? Oh yeah that’s right with an injury and he isn’t even all the way through his sophomore year. Send him back to the minors and give Constanza a shot.

Lowe doesn’t even get an explanation, you have seen his pitching lately.

    1. Heyward doesn’t have an ego!! He was just overhyped and rushed to the majors and people expect more than they should. As for Constanza… people fell in love with 1 good month of him playing out of his mind!!!! Have you not seen him play lately hes nothing more than a AAAA player…He’s really not that good!!!

        1. ok you are still talking about offense, but what about defense? Heyward sucks at defense, he can catch pop ups and fly balls, any baseball player can do that, but he doesn’t make any spectacular plays. Just like Gonzalez, he is an awesome defensive player with a so-so bat, that is what Constanza is, awesome defense, plus he can get on base with a bunt, HELLO better than Heyward!

          1. Most metrics rank Jason as a better than average OF. Constanza is also a better than average OF. You’re right Jose has better range than Jason but Jason gets to more than the Avg Of and has a better arm than Jose. Jose has the ability to bunt and get on base you’re right but he is 8 for his last 42 AB’s with 2 walks that’s why Jason is starting now!

          2. yeah he is starting and striking out looking 90% of the time. Braves are the type of players to not complain about their team mates. Just like we observed Escobar with his attitude, nobody said anything about him, just the way the Braves are. I will admit it if I’m wrong, but also its my opinion. You can’t argue opinion. I still LOVE my Braves and if that includes Jason for now, so be it.

          3. It’s fine to dislike a player but he’s better than Constanza and if you truely love the Braves then Heyward is the guy we need to win not Georgie!!

          4. You just don’t like Heyward and thats fine. It’s your right. But to say he’s a poor defensive player is completely erroneous. The fact that he plays plus defense is what has kept him in the lineup all year. His defense may have kept him from being demoted to Gwinnett. You just can’t afford to play Hinske, or Matt Diaz out there everyday. Constanza is a nice player and has more than impressed me but he is not capable of playing the type of defense that Heyward plays. Open your eyes.

          5. Really did u not watch some of the great plays he made? he made some plays this year that made sportscenter top 10 for example but he made a diving catch  f in foul territory almost sliding into the wall he also made a great running catch were he actually crashed into the wall.U obiviously are just one of those Heyward hatters that ignores all the facts which are anybody whos a expert will tell you Heyward is better then Constanza

        2. Constanza is no more than a AAAA player. A Gregor Blanco / Chuck Thomas type player. He had a great month of ball and then started to slump thats when fredi went with the more talented player Heyward!! Every person you hear talking about Heyward says he’s all team 1st guy and is a great team mate even when he wasn’t getting playing time. Apparently you know Jason better than his teammates and media members that cover Jason every day!!

      1. Heyward is all “look at me, look at me”, very much so. Constanza hasn’t been given the chance to play again since Heyward says he is feeling better, Fredi is making the stupid choice of putting him in. Constanza dives for balls and runs it out, doesn’t just play it on a bounce.

    2. What?? Trade Heyward??? After one bad year…

Wren and the front office would be fired for trading Heyward. He will be given a few years at least. I mean they dealt with Yunel Escobar for a few years waiting for him to blossom into a start.

Heyward’s attitude is nothing the Braves can’t handle … if there is an issue.

      1. They need to trade Heyward while other clubs still think he is worth something. He shouldn’t even be warming the Braves bench.

  5. The way Lowe’s been pitching I can’t see anyone taking him off our hands without us throwing in $10-15m, which I can’t see happening, so I think he’ll stay. JJ I reckon they’ll trade as he’s a Boras client and will be gone soon anyway.
SS – I’d be overjoyed is they went for JJ Hardy, but as he signed a 3yr deal with Orioles 2 months ago I don’t think that’ll happen (maybe a JJ for JJ trade though?) I think theres zero chance of Reyes/Rollins as they’ll be way too expensive – plus I doubt they’d fit in the clubhouse, outspoken/big ego’s. As for Prado @ SS he plays 2B, sometimes 1/3 – he’s not a SS.

    1. I think Wren can talk an AL central team into taking bait, but with the way he’s been pitching, every bad start is an extra $1M we have to throw in. If he pitches well in the playoffs, he’ll save us money.

  6. I don’t understand where you think we will be getting all this money to spend on Jose Reyes or Carlos Beltran. Besides we have Constanza to play LF. What we should do is move Prado back to the infield and play him at SS till Chipper retires.

    1. We’ll have some money with Lowe coming off the books (Trade, please), Linebrink, Sherrill, and other small ones as well. We had some money left over that we didn’t spend this year as well.

I didn’t think about Prado moving back … interesting option. How would his defense be?

    2. Prado can’t play SS he lacks the range!!!! Constanza has proven to be a AAAA player he’s not a ML starter he’s a bench player/Pinch runner. Gonzo will be the SS next year w/ Pastornicky about a year away and Prado will stay in LF. I don’t expect the line-up to change very much unless they play Prado as a utility player and get another big name LF. They will NOT get much salary relief from trading Lowe…They’ll be eating a bunch of that contract and McLouth and KK’s money will be eaten up by arbitration and increased pay to younger players.

      1. so sure about that? that’s what everyone said about johnny peralta before he put up an all-star season at ss for detroit (other than verlander one of the biggest reasons for their success this year has been his bat and defense) prado at ss and finally settling at one position could really pay-off for him…. unless you think he’s only good enough for the UT inf/of role on the team…
