Whoa, what the hell is going on here?? It was earlier confirmed, or 99% confirmed?, that Max Scherzer was headed to the San Diego Padres. My guess? Someone there let it slip out before the ink was dry, Dodgers found out, and swooped in to sweeten the offer and grab a dynamic hitter as well. Padres have moved on. Check. Mate.
The Dodgers are pushing a blockbuster that will net Max Scherzer and Trea Turner from the Nationals for Keibert Ruiz, the games’ #16 top prospect, SP Josiah Gray, Donovan Casey and Gerardo Carrillo. Will update this as we find out more.
