Baseball and grilling go hand in hand. I absolutely love heading out to the ballpark for a 1 p.m. game and then heading home afterward to drink some beer and hang out with a few pals while grilling out. I’m looking forward to those cool summer evenings, drinking some beer and grilling those tasty hamburgers … it’s almost heaven thinking about it.

For those who don’t remember Mitch, he was nicknamed the “Wild Thing” during his 11 MLB seasons, which included a career-high 43 saves in 1993. He’s since been involved with the food industry and has teamed up with MLB and Kingsford on its new “Get Out & Grill” campaign. I really wish I was in his spot!
Check out Kingsford’s new “Get Out & Grill” home run recipes at grilling.com/homerunrecipes. They have a super lineup of recipes from every region in the U.S. I had to check out the recipe for my current location (Pittsburgh), which features a “Grilled Flank Steak Grinder” — this picture says it all — created by football analyst Mike Golic. Seems like a winner to me — I’ve already hit print to save the recipe.
Golic also created the “New York Grilled Sausage & Pepper Grand Slam Grinders” that are pictured along with this post. It makes my mouth drool just looking at them, to be honest.
I tend to throw way too many ingredients when grilling out, but I do enjoy it. It’s time to get the grill out folks, so let me know what your favorite recipes are!
