Baseball players had plenty to say during Thursday night’s 2013 NFL Kickoff match between the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos. Whether it was anticipation and snarking during the lightning delay, bashing Ryan Seacrest (too easy) or watching their fantasy football teams get shredded as Peyton Manning tied an NFL record with seven touchdowns, baseball’s tweeps did not disappoint. Like the rest of Twitter, lots of action during the pregame delay and as Manning started racking up fantasy and real points. Timeline from pregame to post-game.
Who is having a @DenverBroncos road to the Super Bowl viewing party?
— David Aardsma (@TheDA53) September 5, 2013
@TheDA53 I don't associate with Ravens or Broncos fans. You can get in a lot of trouble if you do in this town..

Feels good to be back in Miami! Ready to see Peyton do his thing tonight

It's like a natural disaster for these guys to have a rain delay. Try dealing with it all summer during baseball season.
— Drew Meyer (@DrewMeyerUSC) September 6, 2013
I can't wait to see Ray Lewis tackle Tim Tebow in this game…
— Brett Anderson (@_BAnderson30_) September 6, 2013
Could the rain delay be a continuation of the 2012 superbowl conspiracy?? #whoknows

Is there a more exciting play in the NFL than the kickoff, I'm on the edge of me seat every time. Sweet rule change

I'll be damned if Peyton doesn't throw the worst ball in the NFL, but man is it on the money all the time! #ravens/broncos
— Chris Dickerson (@CDickerson_PFTP) September 6, 2013
Is it just me or does Manning throw some of the most perfect wobbly passes. Almost like its a non-spiral on purpose.
— Mark Mulder (@markmulder20) September 6, 2013
Remember that one time we got blown out at home by the broncos and it ended our season? Oh wait… It didn't. It's one game everyone

Got to credit O-Coordinator, for the #Ravens–just like they drew up on 4th down.#1st&10#Broncos #LeonLett

— Kevin Millar (@KMillar15) September 6, 2013
Peyton definitely started himself this week in fantasy. Unreal.
— Cody Asche (@cody_smasche) September 6, 2013
Oh ya, and he is on pace fro 112 TDs this year…that would probably set some sort of a record I would say…
— Kyle Gibson (@kgib44) September 6, 2013
Payton Manning had -2 yards rushing. Guy could really use to step his game up… maybe next weekend.
