The Texas Rangers announced this morning the signing of Cuban outfielder Leonys Martin to a five-year, $15.5 million deal, which includes a $5 million bonus.
According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, as well as Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Martin will head to the double-A Frisco RoughRiders and may not be far from the big leagues.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Martin, the Rangers designated right-hander Ramon Aguero for assignment.
