Through The Fence Baseball, an updated-daily website focusing on every aspect of baseball, has an opening(s) for the following position.
FORUM MODERATOR / PROMOTER
Please be advised that the position, in its current state, is of volunteer status. However, the creators of TTFB have every intention of monetizing the nearly 1,000 (and growing) daily visitors and, in turn, turning this into a paid position with the salary growing incrementally with overall site revenue.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The TTFB forums are a relatively new feature to the website. While there is certainly some activity on the forum, we’d like to see this grow. The forum moderator/promoter will be responsible for not only the growth of the forums, but also the general upkeep.
It is expected the selected candidate will foster the awareness of the forums to the baseball community and will actively pursue the use of social media to drive traffic to the forums. Further, it is also expected that the selected candidate will monitor the daily activities of the forums and take the appropriate action when needed. This may include responding to all “report posts” request, deleting spam, handing out warnings, banning those members who warrant such, and being the overall authoritative force of the forums.
However, it is duly expected that the chosen candidate will be active in forum discussions concerning baseball and should be able to be counted on to be a respected member in all accounts.
- Previous experience as a forum moderator is highly desirable.
- General knowledge of the game of baseball and its players is highly desirable.
- Experience working with the phpBB forum system is highly desirable.
- The ability to monitor the forums on a day-to-day basis in order to complete the task at hand is required.
HOW TO APPLY:
To apply, please send your resume with a brief cover letter to TTFB founder Jamie Shoemaker at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that only those candidates who best fit our requirements will be contacted.
