  1. Fire up your browser. 
  2. Head to your browser menu. 
  3. Select the “Preferences” option from there.
  4. Access the “Security” section. 
  5. Tick the box next to “Use a master password.”
  6. Take care to create a secure password to maximize the protection against online threats. Keep in mind that a strong password should contain at least seven characters, including non-alphanumeric symbols such asterisks, hashtags, parentheses, tildes, brackets, and others. Also, don’t forget to include at least one capital letter and several digits as constituents of your password. How to Use Master Password on Smartphones

How to Disable or Change the Password

Should you want to disable the Firefox Master Password feature, head to your menu and reverse the changes made earlier. It means that you’ll need to go back to the settings and uncheck the “Use a master password” box. To disable the feature, you’ll also need to enter your Master Password. 

You can also change the Master Password anytime, which is a wise thing to do if you want to be on the safe side. 

In the “Security/Privacy” section, select the “Change Master Password” option. Once you do that, your browser will prompt you to type your old password. Then you may proceed to create a new password. The changes will come into effect as soon as you verify it.
