PITCHERS

Small slate of games today, but a few big matchups on deck. Chris Sale is a no brainer for fantasy, but Arizona is a tough team to strikeout, only striking out 19.5% of the time against lefties. His over/under line of 6.5 is right around where I would expect him. He’ll be in the range of 5-7, but I’m inclined to take the under here.

Andrew Abbott is the most interesting pitcher available today, available in 22% of leagues on ESPN. He faces a Colorado Rockies team that has struck out a whopping 32.8% against lefties, and a 38% whiff rate. The game takes place in the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, which isn’t Coors Field, but isn’t much better for keeping the ball in the yard. His over/under is 5.5 on strikeouts, he struck out six Rockies back in his June 3rd start, I’d take the over here.

HITTERS

A couple contact pitchers today in Chris Flexen and Ryan Feltner. I would look to go stacks with Cincinnati and Minnesota Twins. Jon Gray against the Angels is relatively a watch as well as Gray and Flexen both get hammered by lefties. The Angels actually hit much better against lefties and the Twins bat a massive .283 against lefties. Couple hitters to target here: Taylor Ward, Zach Neto, Jo Adell with the Angels, I’d look for Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton, Willi Castro, and Carlos Santana with the Twins.
